PTSI
PTSI (Para-Toluenesulfonyl Isocyanate), a sulfonyl isocyanate, is designed to react instantly to remove water. This rapid reaction helps stabilize urethane formulations against the deleterious effects of residual moisture which can restrict production, impair quality and reduce product life. Urethane systems utilizing PTSI can be applied under the most demanding humidity, dew point or temperature conditions and still guarantee the best corrosion resistance.
PTSI is a moisture scavenger considered critical in the formulation of urethane-based coatings, adhesives, sealants, and UV-inks. It is also an important intermediary for many pharmaceutical products.
